My university was 3 months late in posting my bill for the upcoming Fall 2014 term and is now attempting to wrongfully charge me almost $3,000 more than they are supposed to for my Combined Bachelors and Masters Program.

The entire point of this program is that you are meant to be able to take some graduate classes for undergraduate tuition, but now the Registrar’s Office is refusing to honor the stipulations of my program, the same ones which have been sworn to me for an entire year.

I was trying to save my mom (who raised me and my brother single-handedly) and I some $ by getting my degrees more quickly and now the university is screwing me big time.

With my mom being in and out of the hospital for the last year and myself being in the hospital last night, it’s going to be somewhat difficult to come up with an extra $3,000 by August 8, 2014 (it is currently July 9, 2014).

She is an incredibly hard-working and independent woman. I want to be able to help any way I can. This is the only way for me to do so.

While I am still trying to see of they will at least consider dropping at least some, if not all, of the false charges, I have received very little response from my university on the matter.

As I write this, I am sitting in her room on the hospital to which she has been readmitted for the second time in a month.

I do not expect or demand anything of anyone. I only ask that anyone who can contribute without detriment to themselves do so and that those who cannot would at least boost my page. I would greatly appreciate either effort.

Thank you and stay well.

Update: My mom has been back in the hospital for a few days and when I visited last night, I was informed that the doctors may have to amputate her toe and possibly part of her foot, because she has an infection that may spread through her bones.

I am trying to be supportive and telling her that we will do whatever we have to in order to keep her healthy and stop the infection from spreading and that I will be there for her. I will, but as you can imagine this is setting us all back both emotionally and financially.

On top of this, I have been informed that my university is refusing to remove any of the false charges, including not only an extra $2,190 in tuition, but they are also charging me an additional $666 for Student Services, which I am already being charged $999 for as an undergraduate student.

There is literally NO difference in the services whatsoever.

I am so drained from all of this and immensely disgusted by higher education.

All I can do is signal boost this for you because I am so broke, I’m sorry this is happening to you.
